I’ve always considered Thanksgiving as the first day of the Christmas season.  I prefer to call this time of year the traditional Christmas season rather than the ‘holiday season.’  As such, I prefer it when people greet me with ‘Merry Christmas’ rather than ‘happy holidays.’  Call me old-fashioned.

Although seven years my senior, my friend and I share similar views of the Christmas season.  The fact that we share Polish origins may well have something to do with it as well.

Several years ago, he was working on a book that included a very short chapter called ‘Thanksgiving.’  He posted it on one of his websites last week.  It so reminded me of a good memory of Thanksgiving that many of us share, I asked if I could post it on Carl’s Corner.  Naturally, he agreed.

You can read it here.  Here’s wishing you a wonderful and blessed Christmas season
